A decade partnering with the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity

Using sports to reach thousands of children of service families

The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity supports sailors, marines and their families for life, and it’s a privilege to be one of their valued partners by providing sports and activity programmes for children of serving families.

Through our charity to charity partnership, we’re able to offer service families a subsidised rate, ensuring the activity programme is accessible for all families.

The partnership is growing and now over 1,500 children access 23 Kings Camps weeks at 8 Navy and Marine bases.

Extending our work with Active Leaders

As our partnership evolves, we’re thrilled to be extending the work into schools attended by children of Naval Service families via our Active Leaders programme – a programme that equips, trains and inspires Year 5 primary school children to lead active games in the school playground at break and lunch times.

Richard Holmes, CEO at Kings Active Foundation says, “Through our work with the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity we’ve been able to reach thousands of children of service families. For many of these children, moving frequently and having parents away for long periods of time can be challenging. The aim of our work on Navy and Marine bases is to counter some of these issues. The launch of our Active Leaders programme, alongside our existing Kings Camps, provides us with another way to positively engage with children of serving families.”
